PRINCETON FUMBLES GIVE LEHIGH 90 TIE PRINCETON. N. j.. October Ii The unusual spectacle of Princeton University’s foot ball squad being held to a scoreless tie was witnessed by $4,000 devotees today, when Lehigh fought off the Tigers in Palmer Stadium. F’umbles by the Tiger backfield prevented Princeton from scoring. and with Lehigh close to a touchdown, all the Tiger strength was demanded to hold their ground. The loss of Capt. Stout and four regulars early in the second half left Princeton powerless to attack. Lehigh threatened to score three times in the second period. The squad opened up big. holes for it’s backs, and the Tigers found them impregnable on the defense. Charlie Prior. Lehigh’s hero, outpunted Slagle, the Tiger quarterback, by 10 yards. Six times Tiger back dropped the ball. and only once was it recovered by teammate. In the first quarter Slagle ran back punt A. yards to the 35-yard line. but it was fumbIed, and Lehigh’s right end, Burke, recovered. Slagle missed field goal in the first period from the 30-yard line that would have won the game, but this later was Offset by Burke’s missing placement from the 21-yard line.
