The Vandals are prepared for battle to avenge the defeat administered by the fighting Gonzaga crew at Spokane last year while the Bulldogs realize that their showing against Idaho will be a big factor toward the admission of Con zaga university in the Northwest conference. Football rivalry between Idaho and Gonzaga dates back to 1911 and in the ten games since that time Idaho has emerged victorious eight times. In the ten games the Idaho pointage total has been 142 to 62 points for Gonzaga. The unqestioned strength of the Bulldogs this season, how ever, counteracts any possible advantage that Idaho might have by virtue of wins in past years. Under Coach Dorais the Bulldogs are rec ognized here as most worthy and thoroughly o-be-feared opponents. EIeyens Even Up Montana’s defeat by Gonzaga is looked upon as evidence of the eveness of the strength of the two machines meeting here next Friday. 1t has been two weeks since Idaho and Montana met at Moscow and the improvement brought about in the Montana eleven in the two weeks is reflected in the game last Saturday, won by the Bulldogs, 25 to 2. Gonzaga’s national reputation is recognized on the Idaho campus. Idaho students rejoiced last Christ mas day in the splendid showing of Gonzaga against West Virginia at Pasadena because GOnzaga players represented western institution. Idaho people will be boosting for Gonzaga again this year when the Bulldogs play Detroit university in an intersectional game. Athletic Relations Cordial Athletic relations between the two institutions have always been most cordial although the most bitter rlvairy has always existed.
