PRINCETON’S DEFEAT OF YALE IS’ OUTSTANDING FEATURE OF SEASON New York. Nov. 19-(By the A. P)-‘ An unconquered, Princeton eleven to- day holds the niche in Old Nassau’s hall of fame such as few of it’s pre- decessors have gained-standlng out as undisputed champion Of the BIZ Three and also as a strong claim ant for eastern titular laureAs. Fresh from a hard-fought’ victory over Harvard the Saturday before, 10 to 8, the Tigers yesterday capped the climax of their brilliant 1922 season | by beating Yale, to- 0, and thus ac- complaining the downfall of it’s two i o-reat rivals in succession for the first time since the spectacular Sam White crushed both the Blue and the I Crimson single-handed in 1911. > l Harvard went down to defeat, 50, at the hands of Brown, in the most startling of three major upsets Tn the eastern football dope. Without Buell. l Owen and Chapin, backfield stars. the l Crimson was out-rushed by the Bru- | nonians but threw away a golden chance for victory in. the second pc 1 riod by being penalized To yards TOT | holding on a play which had carried l the pigskin across Browns goal line. Harvard, appeared disheartened atter this break while Brown braced, kept 1 it’s own goal line out of. danger for 1 the rest of the game and tallied the winning points from the field ip the l last quarter. a i Penn and Pittsburgh accounted for the other reversals. The Quakers, dis playing the sort of dash that carried them to triumph over the Navy, down ed Penn State by the margin of goa from try after touchdown, to 6. Glenn Warmers PantheHs sprang another spectacular surprise by outplaying the undefeated Washington and Jefferson eleven, 19 to o. It was the first re- verse since late in 1920 for W. and J.
