N J., youngster. scored all three of the Eli’s ‘touchdowns and made three of the most sensational and thrilling runs ever seen in the Bowl. Brown, outclassed. fought grimly and with keen determination. Yale, however. held the upper hand a vast part Of the time. In the second quarter. Wight received the ball on his own 40-yard line. He shot the ball to Neidlinger. waiting in mid field. The Yale quarter left all Brown pursuers behind as IL their shoes were soled with anvils. In the third quarter Neidlinger caught the ball on Adams kick and darted through the Rhode Island players as IL they were rooted tc the ground as solidly as stalwart oaks. Wight kicked the goal. In the fourth quarter. after some little scrimmage which did not net either team much. Yale staged a kick formation and Wight passed to Neidlinger on his own 35-yard line. He tucked the oval under his arm. lowered his head and scooted for the goal as IL his life depended on 1t. Nary a Brown player laid hands on him; nor was he accorded any real protection by his mates. He just ran. Wight again kicked safely, so there you have It: Newell Neidlinger who raced to three touchdowns and Ted Wight who kicked two goals.
