The Nittany Lions dis played their best playing of the wear TO date. and despite Middlebury’s piucky defense tailed FIVE touchdowns and three extra points. The visitors flashed the best attack seen here this year and kept Penn State on the defensive for more than tne score indicates. However, when within scoring distance The Blue and White defcnee stifFened and held for downs. In the last period the visitors pushed Penn States second team to the limit, but failed to score. Harry Wilson, Penn States great half-back, continued his fine work and tore off runs Of from 10 TO 25 Yards. He also kept up HIS scoring record with two touchdowns wilson was not the only Penn State luminary, however, for young Earl Kratz, the midget half-back, who start ed his first game as regular. more than justified Bezdek’s confidence in him. Time and again he tore through the opposing team for brilliant gains. and his work was second only TO that Of Wilson. a word Of credit must also be given 70 the Penn State Hne. On Saturday at the Polo Grounds a Syracuse team which has been pretty we’ll banged up by town and Pitts burgh--tied by one a. s beaten by the other-will enter the lists against Penn State. Hugo Bezdek’s eleven. which has not been beaten in three years, heads this way just hard enough for the scrap but quite fresh physically and mentally. The YER monters came home with the impression that they had done their best work of TIE season against the best team of the year. Penn State is playing rugged and at the same time crafty football. II is playing that highly deceptive football which stood out like an ntaglio in the 2i to II tie with Harvard last fall. II is playing Bezdek football with a great lot OF experts in the line and the backfield. and Syracuse seems doomed
