The outstanding spectacular fealures OF the battle yesterday were two runs from kickons through the entire Kalamazoo host for touch downs by Paul Cashier. fullback, one Of Notre Danes few veterans. Cashiers first run came Just after the initial touchdown OF the game. Capt. Doyle Of the Kazoos kicked Of to the sold and Blue star on his sew en- yard line and he raced straight down the middle of the field behind excellent interference. About at his own As yard line he left his interferers and shaking of several tack lers and clrcling several more he finally outdistanced the entire lot and placed the ball directly between the uprights. His second dash the length OF the field came at the start OF the third period and was an al most exact duplication Of the first. He received the leather on his ten yard lire again carried IL through the midI lie OF the opposition 80 yards 10 the goal posts These two brilliant runs were bright spots in the game that was featured by a display Of power and promise on the part OF the Irish offensive that gives Notre Dame followers a feeling that the new eleven of Rockne has possibilities Of developing into a machine that will give a GOOD account of itself this year. Kane furnished the thriller of the afternoon when he went into the fray in the fourth quarter and on the hrst play took the ball of tackle for fifty yards 10 a touchdown. He eluded at least Six tacklers by straight arms and lodging and brought the stands TO their feet when he stayed up after apparently having been downed several times II was The prettiest bit OF broken held running OF the game. The showing of the squad yesterday afternoon was unquestionably encouraging TO Gold and Blue followers. The men fumble6 very little considering the earliness of the season and showed the fght and spirit for which all former Notre Dame teams have been famous. Few mistakes were made, all the men. regulars. second and third string alike handling themselves like veterans.
