The field was covered with water and mud from an all-morninG rain. Indiana was able to hold the Cath olics even in the first two periods. the count being seven points each when the halfway mark was reached. Indiana’s attack was almost COM pletely smothered in the last two periods. Crimson elected TO play straight football until the final pc Rod whcE forward passes were used.   Notre Dame Downs Indiana, on Mud Covered Field INDIANAPOLIS, Oct 2s.-Ripping drives through the line, alternated with an aerial attack in the last two periods, to-day gave Notre Dame a 2s to VIC tory over Indiana. The field was COW cred with water and mud from an all morning rain. Indianns attack was almost COM pletely smothered in the last two periods.
