Aerial Attack in Last Period Saves Penn From Defeat Wray, Sullivan and Miller Tie the Score at Seven All With Swarthmore PHILADELPHIA, Oct 15-A twenty six-yard forward pass thrown with unerring accuracy by Captain Rex Wray into the arms of George Sullivan and the accuracy Of Pos Millcr’s good right foot avoided 4 disaster for Penn on Franklin Field this afternoon and enabled the Red and Blue to tie Swarthmore in the annual football game The final figures were Z to T. 1t was in the fourth period that Penn called on the aerial attack to save it self from defeat With the ball on the 26yard line and less than five min utes to play, Captain Wray set him self back of the Red and Blue center, and after receiving the pass heaved the ball down the gridiron. The oval seemed to fly over the chalk lines and Sullivan had to put on extra speed to get his fingers on the ball as it went flying over the goal line. He brought it down to his chest, hugged it for one brief second, and then touched it to ground. Penn still could be defeated, but Pos Miller poised himself coolly as he aimed for the posts and the ball sailed between the uprights for the point that tied the game. The IT tie was in reality moral victory for the little Quakers from the suburbs. Lester Asplundeh scored the first huIs-eye in the feud with a score in the first period. ba
