Colgate and Princeton in Bitter Battle; Former Wins Princeton, N. J., Oct. 25.-Colgate defeated Princeton, 7 to 0. in one of the bitterest football struggiles ever seen in Palmer Memorial stadium. The Tigers held the visit ing team even throughout the great er part of the game and had the ball deep in Colgate territory most of the fourth quarter and once Trimble dashed across the Maroon line only to be called back for off side play in the Orange and Black line. Colgate early found the Princeton line practically impenetratable and resorted to a forward passing attack at the start of the second half. A bad kick by Trimble gave Colgate the ball on Princeton’s 32-yard line at the middle of the third quarter. Anderson, Colgate’s quarterback, then opened a fierce attack, using Gillo time after time against the Tiger forwards and mixing his line plays with forward passing game. The Maroon team finally gained first down inside the Orange and Black 10-yard line, but the Prince ton line steadied and took the ball on downs. Triinble kicked out Of danger but Anderson brought the ball back with nice run and Colgate was once more within scoring distance. Watkins found a hole in the right side of the Tiger line, and on a for ward pass, Anderson to Watkins, took the ball over the line for a touchdown. West kicked the goal. Trimble and Strubing played brilliant games for Princeton. Colgate’s attack centered around Anderson and Gillo.
