  FAVOR DARTMOUTH TO DEFEAT CORNELL Green’s Showing Against Penn State Puts it in Fore for Saturdays Game. New York football followers are look ing with eager interest toward the game between Dartmouth and Cornell which will be contested on the Polo Grounds next Saturday afternoon. Barring the Army–N Navy tits, this game will be the biggest football affair that has been provided at the Polo Grounds since Cornelrs 1914 team crushed Brown, 81 to 7. Cornell has not been seen here since 1914, While Dartmouth has not played in the city since the disastrous Carlisle game in 1913. Cornell and Dartmouth have met twice on the gridiTon. each team winning a game. The first clash was in 1900. when Cornell won. “a to g.; while the second was in 1912. when Dartmouth trounced the Big Red team at Ithaca, “a to 0. Thus this tilt will break the tie, and II scenes certain that Dart mouth will gain the long end OF the rubber. The chief reason that Dartmouth as sumed the favored position is the rugged, determined attack that the Big Green team showed against Penn State last Saturday, when Dartmouth was forced to come from behind to win, 10 to IL. This game might indicate also that the Green. defence Is not all that 1t ought to be. but it must be remembered that Penn State is one OF the toughest teams in the East. And almost any defence at all ought 10 stall the Indifferent work that may be expected of the Ithaca backfeld. The Big Red team has scored grand total of ~ points this season, and for each and every one of them Capt. Fritz Shiverick must be thanked. lie scored one touchdown and two field goals-hardly enough to make Dartmouth lose any sleep.
