  RUTGERS FOOTBALL START SUCCESSFUL Sanford’s Eleven Defeats Ursinus by 81 to 0 in Typi- cal Early Came. NEW BRuNswIcR, N. j., Sept. 81 Foster Sanford’s Rutgers eleven opened the season here this afternoon by defeat ing Ursinus 81 to 0, in a game that embraced all the features that tend to make early season football uninteresting. The work of the Rutgers men left much to be desired. They charged with out purpose or sense Of direction and blocked biindly. Fpmbles we’re frequent on both sides, but Rutgers accumulated more misplays than Urslnus These faults can be accounted for. however by the fact that the Rutgers team has had scarcely two real weeks OF practice. Nothing but straight football was essayed by either team. with the excepton of simple little shift which Urslnus tiled two or three times without sue cess.
