Syracuse Defeats Rutgers on Three MlspIays Il to 0 Three lucky touchdowns, two on blocked kicks and n on a tumble, gave Buck” O’Neill’s heavy SYRIA cuse eleven q p to 0 victory over the Rutgers team at the Polo Grounds Saturday afternoon. 1t was the-upstate ~eleven’s second victory in three days.. The Rutgers team was all out of luck while tickle fortune smiled upon the visitors. The members of Scarlet team outrushed Syracuse in all four periods, but were unable to score. The Orange team took advantage of every opportunity offered them The up-staters paid particular attenton to Robson, and, as the result the big negro end did not figure prominently in the game. Every time Robson got the ball at least two players were on top of him. 1t was quite a disastrous afternoon for Sanford’s players. On ground gaining they should have won, but did not. To add to their trouble: Baker. the speedy quarterback sprained his right ankle early in the third quarter and had to be carried off the field.
