Wolverines Roll Back Syracuse to Decisive Defeat ANN ARBOR, Mich, Nov. 16-Tt is Michigan’s turn to laugh now, for this afternoon the sturdy men of Yost rolled Syracuse up in ball, kicked it around the gridiron on Ferry Field and vaulted to the pinnacle of a Is 10 score. Three goals from the field and a touch down, all made by Stekelee, with cut the resultant goal kicked represent the margin by which the Maise and Blue triumphed over the Orange. Perhaps it was the feeling of contempt that Syracuse held for Michigan that caused the brave defenders of the Wolverine states football might to fight so fiercely that in all events it was a victory nobly won. Unmindful of the rain that fell in sheets throughout most of the after noon and the natural consequences, wet ball, poor footing and fumbling, generated and outgamed the New Workers. With the exception of short period in the third quarter after Michigan had attained a lead of six points, as TIE result of two spectacular kicks by Stekelee from the thirty-five yard line, the play was constantly in Syracuse territory. The Wanted toe of Quarter back Ackley, upon which the invaders conceded they would depend for scoring, never got the chance to exercise its idea of direction or power. In the third period when the visitors showed a flash of form and compelled Coach Yost to navigate the side lines in q state of nervousness, the ball was within striking distance of the Maise and Blue goal posts, but always at an angle too difficult for the Syracuse kicker to dare try.
