No. 21 UCLA went to Autzen and beat No. 13 Oregon 17–15. The Bruins are 5–0 under Bob Chesney, and Oregon is 3–2.

Oregon turned it over six times: four lost fumbles and two interceptions. It went 1 for 12 on third down and gained 242 yards. You don’t beat anybody like that, never mind a team that hasn’t lost.

Dylan Raiola was 6 of 19 for 43 yards with two interceptions when Dan Lanning benched him in the fourth quarter for walk-on Brock Thomas. Thomas went 11 of 15 for 126 yards and hit Evan Stewart for a 44-yard touchdown with 2:16 left to make it 17–15.

Then the two-point try to tie. Thomas was stopped, a UCLA face mask gave Oregon another shot from the 1, and Jordon Davison was stopped too. Oregon got the ball back once more and never got past its own 37.

UCLA played the second half without Nico Iamaleava, who was hurt, and won anyway. Wayne Knight ran 22 times for 103 yards and scored both touchdowns, a 35-yard run and a 9-yard catch from Ty Dieffenbach, and the Bruins had the ball for 39 minutes.

Next week UCLA hosts Wisconsin at the Rose Bowl. Oregon hosts Nebraska, and the question all week is who plays quarterback.
