Three touchdowns. A three-point win. Jojo Uga’s Hometown Story

Hyde Park’s Jojo Uga took a route through Weston High School, Worcester Academy and Albany before reaching Lamar. Against UIW on October 10, the Massachusetts running back scored 3 touchdowns in a game the Cardinals won by 3 points.

Lamar survived 38–35. Uga carried 22 times for a career-high 144 yards, with scoring runs of 25, 57 and 4 yards. That performance earned the Southland Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week award. His longest run accounted for more than a third of his rushing total.

Before the move to Beaumont, Uga led Albany in rushing in consecutive seasons. Albany’s signing announcement also identifies him as a former Weston captain. The jersey and the level have changed along the way; the home connection has not. Hyde Park has a running back to follow in Texas.
