Honestly, I recall a similar game about a month ago where the roles were reversed. This time around, it’s Texas up by 14 in the second quarter, leading 17–3.
What happened is Texas completely crumbled under pressure; Florida drove all over them, and with about 5 minutes left in the 3rd, the game was all the way tied back up before Florida kicked for 28 yards and took the lead. Florida looks to bury the game as what looks like the best RB in the country, Jadan Baugh, cruises 11 yards right in the end zone, which puts Florida up by 10. Don’t worry, Texas trades them a score. Manning leads a pretty drive and finds Coleman in the end zone for a touchdown. Texas puts a stop to the Gators with not much time left on the clock and looks to take the ball down at the end of the game for the WWW. This Florida team had a bad couple of weeks behind them, but regardless of that, they still seem to be built different. Texas, with their last chance, completely folded. Myles Graham got to Arch Manning, spun him around, and knocked the ball loose on a 9-yard sack…Florida got the ball back, and that sealed the upset in front of a crowd of over 100,000 in Austin.
While Manning and this Texas team are going to get lots of hate, I would like to recognize and furthermore praise some big performances from both Tramell Jones Jr. and Lacota Dippre. In his first career start, Tramell Jones, filling in for the injured Aaron Philo, threw for 2 TDs, both to Lacota Dippre.
