Dartmouth Outplay ing Princeton When Intercepted Pass Brings Defeat Bv CRANTLAND RICE Princeton, n. J., Oct. 2s.-In a loose ;oip,ed world where only results are rristered, and where only scores are remembered, Princeton triumphed over dartmouth to-day by the margin Of Ito 3. So far as football goes Dartmouth ulsyed the sounder, stronger game, and deserved the olive. But the drear and ankempt Fate that has ridden with the Green troop from Hanover to Nassau rear after year was still in the saddle waiting for the proper moment to toss he keen harpoon Of misfortune into Dartmouth’s quivering flesh. Dsrtmouth’s powerful backs, Ger rsh. Duhamel, Thielscher and Cannell, arove their way through the Tiger defence for many well gained yards, but ever the Big Four in Green harness vere not mighty enough to overthrow A. ancient Fate that has apparently or ssined an eternal Dartmouth doom on Nassau sod. Fate to-day selected the middle Of the third quarter as the decisive moment in which 70 drape Hanover in crepe and sapplant the laurel with the myrtle. Dartmouth at that moment was leading, sto 0, through a field goal by Gerrish Il the second quarter. The Dartmouth stack, launched with both speed and power, had carried the ball down into Tiger territory. A. the 3s-yard line Gerrish shot a forward pass 20 Emery over at the right SIDE Of the field. The ball. thrown on low line, struck two Princeton men in is fight before il finally carromed off INTO the arms Of Eddie briggs. And il was right here that briggs carried Princeton out Of a shadow as bleak and arnressive as a storm-swept midWinter
