COLGATE FORCES YALE TO TASTE DEFEAT AGAIN New Workers Showed Much Speed Score 15 to O. Beaten to a frazzle,” an apt ex- preSsion coined by a we’ll known one- time president of the United States. htttngiy sums up Yale in The game the bowl. which the maroon jersey players won, Is to 0. The defeat of the Ellis, making the third in six starts this autumn, was one of the most decisive administered to a Yale team in many years. and when tile umptre’s whistle ended the contest in the dark ten thousand gloomy follow CTS of Captain Wilson’s team filed through the portals of the Bowl thor oughly convinced that as football team the eleven is a fine lot of “wie snatchers.” This applies to the tack ling of the Yale team more than any thing, for its was the poor work in this department which stood out SC prominently in an afternoon of bad football for the blue and fine football for Colgate. Nearly every tackle by a Yale man was made arounr the ears of his oppennt, and the two touch downs can be indirectly traced to in- ability of the Yale men to hang on to the Colgate runner once he got his hands on him. Colgate came to New Haven cenfi- dent of winning, for the team had not been scored on this season, and there never was a time during the whole game when they was any cause for wondering why the New York state collegtans felt so sure of themselves. They played the game hard and fast from the start and never once did Yale have a chance to score. The Ellis did not get nearer than twenty three yards to the Colgate line so strong was the latter’s line, and on the offefise the Yale team showed next to nothing. Scovil did make a few runs through Colgate’s left side but he was the only Yale man to make gains worth mentioning. The lineup: Yale (0) CoIrate (f5>
