  VICTORY FOR WISCONSIN. Defeats Purdue, 2s to 8, in a Game Closer Than Score Indicates. LAFAYETTE. Ind. October 16.-Wisconsin won from Purdue, % to 3. here today in a game that was closer than the score indicates. The Boilermakers’ line stopped the heavy Badgers time after time and Wisconsin frequently was held for downs. The ball was in Wisconsin’s territory throughout the first quarter. series of line plunges gave Pultz the opportunity to kick goal from the 25-yard line for Purdue’s only points. In the second quarter a blocked kick on the Boilermakers’ 15-yard line rolled over the goal line and Hancock fell on 1t for Wisconsln’s first touchdown. Byers recovered a punt and made a spectacular s0-yard run for the Badgers Sec ond touchdown of this quarter. There was no scoring in the third period. but in the fourth Capt. Blocker OF Purdue was injured and left the game. The Boilermakers seemed to lose heart and Wisconsin, with series of long runs, scored two more touch downs.
