Football Eleven Showed Little After Scoring Ten Points in Rutgers Game. Princeton’s football eleven must not be Judged by what il showed in beat ing Rutgers at Princeton yesterday by q score of 10 to 0. Tibbott, for the few minutes that he played, was a whirlwind. and with the help of flash of the November brand of interference made two long and dashing runs. one for eighty yards and touchdown on catching a punt and one for thirty five yards on receiving another punt; which led up after one little show OF offensive power on straight rushlng cy Captain Click to goal from the fe!.d by drop kick from the toe of this same Tibbott, when standing on the twenty-yard line. Apart from this, Rutgers men can get such satisfaction as is possible from the statement that their eleven was much further advanced and Tar better equipped for this time OF ne year than the Tigers. In nil that goes to make up foo ball as il is judged, Rutgers had the stronger team Yesterday. The offence was more varied, more powerful ano MORO consecutive. Beck” Amen Corner ALL the big” college teams had their troubles on the gridiIon Saturday. Princeton caught a tartar in Rutgers and won by the small score Of 10 to 0 while Massachusetts, Aggies held Harvard scoreless until two minutes before time when the Crimson got across with the only seven points of the game. Little Franklin and Marshall held Penn sylvania to a 1O-5 score and BuckneH proved a tough proposition for Syracuse, the Orange winning by the small score Of o to o. “CHORTY” WEISS met his Water loo in the big game, Sunday. Weiss outguessed the batters at Washington park most Of the season but the soldiers simply outguessed the foxy little southpaw on Sunday They waited him out and when Weiss had to put them over the plate, they landed on his choice ones. Exception was taken to comment in this column some time ago that the Commercial league batters should wait on Weiss and not break their backs going after his wide ones. Sundays game showed the truth Of the comment. DOUGH play seems to have marked Saturdays football game at Las Cruces. At that, the game is said to have been less rough than last years game between the same two teams. It is evident that some strict Off Gals are needed. John MEEK is on deck again and ) is once more IN charge of he fistic affairs at Juarez. He has been keeping busy while the other fellows were talking ard says that he IS going ahead with the GeOrge-Herrick match, as originally -cheduled. Joe TINKER can now enter the ) hospital for his much delayed operation Joe declared that he couldn’t leave his team until it made the final rush that would take the Fede-I -eague pennant TO Chicago. The chances of landing the flag for the Lhifeds looked pretty slim on Friday night but the Tinkerites – cane back strong in the second game Of Sundays double header and beat the Rebels, while the Packers obligingly defeated the Sloufeds- It was one Of the closest finishes seen in major league ball in years.

WESLEYAN LOSES T0sV|IA|S ) TEAM & Methodists Unable to Hold Opponents Lose by 20 to0score. Strange things happened In the football world Saturday. Rutgers. the team that Princeton most feared. was beaten by the Tigers 10 to 0. Yale was trounced by Virginia 10 to 0. West Virginia, much better team than Wash.Jetf, was held to tie. The Fairmont High School team was whitewashed by the High School OF Buckhannon. But the most unexpect. ed defeat was the 20 to 0 fiasco I’m. corked at Lynchburg when the West Virginia Wesleyan team was beaten by Washington and Lee. The Wesley. ans team was outplayed and out run. One Of the touchdowns against Yves. leyan was the result OF tumble that rolled over the goal line, a Wash.Lee man shooting head foremost to gain 1t which he did. The others were made in the first few minutes OF the first and second half, apparently be. fore the Wesleyan bunch could get its bearings. The Washington and Lee team play. ed an open game. more open than is considered safe, but they got away with 1t. The stars OF the Washington and Lee open game were Barrett, right half, and Young, quarterback. Shu. maker and Kellison featured for the Buckhannon eleven. Bobbitt, who was substituted for Wagner. showed up well, and will probably get more chances to enter the games. The Washington and Lee goal was threatened continually in the second half by the Wesleyan team, but with no luck. The Buckhannon team showed UP 80 per cent better in the second half than in the first. holding the Wash. Lee bunch at will and fighting every inch of ground. The lineup:
