NOTRE DAME BEATS COLLEGE Alma College Makes Good Showing In First Game of Football Season Although Alma College was defeat ed by the strong Notre Dame football team last Saturday, they surprised and delighted their many followers by holding this powerful aggregation to 800 score. The University men had great diff iculty in making gains through Alma’s defense and several times Alma made it first down against their opponents. Hyde and Fitch Of Alma were in jured slightly in this game and it is doubtful if they will appear against NJ. A. c. on Saturday. Among the new men NJ. Smith, Barnard, Foote and N. Alma OiiipiCItu 0CNCld al AOI WdIu passes III this period and threatened to score. Bachman scored at the beginning of the third quarter and in the last period Phelan scored through the line, and, with only minute to play, Yeager received forward pass from Phelan and ran – yards for their last score. Saturday the college plays the strong NJ. A. c. team. These men defeated Olivet $40 last Saturday and Alma hopes to make as good show ing. The following week Alma plays her first home game. Hillsdale College will be Alma’s opponents in this struggle and this will be the first game Alma plays in her own class.
