.1llE MISS BEATS THE RAzORbACKS Arkansas University. Lads Err in Not Using Straight Football Tactics. 13 TO 7 IS THE STORY Forward Passes Utilized by Mississip- pians to Great Administrations. back Strong at Finisll-Little Rock Doesn’t Patronize. Little Rock, Nov. 13.-Had the uni versity of Arkansas taken advantage of it’s opportunities in the entire game, like it rushed matters the first three and the last three minutes of the game with the university of Mississippi, Ole Miss would not have chalked up 13 to 7 victory over the Razcrbacks in tn game at West nd park this after noon, Outside of these brief inter- yals Mississippi played rings around the home state team. Starting like whirlwind. Arkan sas received the ball on it’s ten-yard line and on straight football, showed Mississippi back until near her goal. An intercepted forward pass ruined a chance to score, but back came those fighting Razorbacks, and the ball was carried close enough for Cook to try for field goal, but he failed. For the balance of the quarter Mississippi contented herself with keeping Arkan- sas working, booting the ball back to the Arkansans whenever it was re- ceived. The second quarter found Mississip- pi harassing the Arkansas goal, put neither side was able to put enough punch into the play to shove the ball over. The third quarter found Ole Miss continually changing exhausted for fresh players, and after fighting the ball to Arkansas three-yard line, the Razcrbacks held for downs, the ball going over when within few inches of the goal line. Arkansas then fought the ball back to the center of the field, but Mississippi pulled off several successful forward passes, and the ball was again on Arkansas three yard line, and this time short buck sent it over. Goal was kicked. Near the end of the fourth quarter a run by the Mississippi quarterback sent the ball across for another touch down. With but three minutes to play Arkansas awakened. On the kick offgthe ball was tossed on a criss, and carried past the center of the field. Arkansas then resorted to old style { football and carried the oval to the Mississippi ten-yard line, where pass put it over Mississippi’s goal. Cook kicked goal Arkansas rushed right back and was in a fair way to score when the game ended. Mississippi used the forward pass 5 to good advantage, gaining on all at tempted but two. while Arkansas tried time again, and was successful but twice. Had the RazorbaCks used straight football, when they were rushing Mississippi into defenseless mass, there no doubt would have been ia different result, although Missis- sippi was many pounds heavier to the man. The attendance was so light that in all probability, this is the last big game the university will play in Little : Rock unless good sized guaranty is made by the business men of the city.
