Oklahomans’ Open Plays on set Kansans’ Superior Weight. Game in Doubt Until Last Sound Of Whistle. Lawrence, Kan, Nov. 2-One of the most spectacular and best foot ball games ever witnessed on Kan sas gridiron was played here last Sat urday, the strong team from Okla homa holding K U. to 16 to 16 tie. The game was made UT of forward passes. trick plays. shifts. the kicking game and good, old fashioned foot ball. and thrill after thrill was uncorked as the rival players arose to every emergency and pulled on plays that were dazzling in their brilliance- The Oklahoma team. which was considerably lighter than the K. U. Jayhawkers, relied largely on the open play and their bewilderins for ward passes proved an effective Offset to the K U. avoirdupois, and the ball was kept in Kansas .1rritory during the greater part OF the first half. The Yale shift was the most formidable weapon of the Jayhawkers and by us ing it they were able to hold the score to tie.
