  ILLINOIS DOWNS OHIO STATE. 81 TO o Big Squad of Scouts From other Uni versIties Watch Buckeyes go Down to Defeat. United Press Leased Wire Service CHAMPAIGN, ILL.,, Oct. 17.-With a squad Of scouts from other big col leges on the side lines, Illinois ran over the Ohio state football machine by score of 81 to 0 this afternoon. Pogue, Illinois quarterback, was the high light Of the offense, scoring three touch-downs, the third after a fifty yard sprint after he intercepted a Buckeye forward pass. Ohio put up stubborn defense, proving far strong er than Indiana, the Illinois opponents last week. In the first half, Ohio held the Blue and Gold to one touch down and ONE field goal. In the last half, Ohio fought gamely but showed symptoms of exhaustion and were moved down by the speedy Illinois offense. The visitors showed offensive talent only in flashes when they work ed forward passes successfully. They were unable to make consistent gains.
