COLGATE FOUNDERS TO CLOSE VICTORY Defeats Trinity on Latter’s Field by a Single Touchdown, Which Slid Over. Hartford. Conn, oct 25.-Ear!y IN the third period OF the game between COL gate and Trinity this afternoon Coffee who up to that juncture had played as becomes a good halfback, waded out IN to one Of the myriad of unchartered lakes on Trinity Field. and after making the usual motions indicating that he was going TO pick up Huntington’s punt ana dash far down the field he ANONYMOUSLY fumbled the ball. and in a flash Riley was sliding along on the dirty pigskih for a full four yards and the beginning OF a 6 TO victory for Colgate. In the first half Colgate had found II possible 10 make successive first downs through Howell, playing left tackle Tor Trinity. Though the entire field was sub merged and inches deep in slime the TWO teams seemed to delight in wiping up each other in a large pool in the centre where the mud was especially dirty and the water particularly wet.
