NORWICH SCORED But Was Beaten by Brown Fl to 7 OPEN PLAY STARTED TOO LATE Brown Has Total of Twenty-one Points to Her Credit When Norwich Flashes Forth to a Touch. OPEN PLAY STARTED TOO LATE Providence. r. l., Nov. 25.--Browl won, 2l to Z, from Norwich university on Andrews field Saturday afternoon Browns three touchdowns were made on straight football, neither the team nor the players as individuals showing anything in the way of brillianey. Ten. pey was the principal performer for Brown, the sturdy half making most OF the gains for his team. The exhibition from Brown point Of view was disappointing. The play of the visiting eleven on the other hand was spectacular at several times during the game, and the advance leading up to their touchdown was one of the pref tiest exhibitions of open football ever seen on Andrews field. Norwich did not start her open play until the closing moments of the last period, or the score might have been different Three times the Vermont boys were within striking distance Of Browns goal, and three times field goals which they attempted failed. In the final period, after Bartlett had gone over the Norwich line but fumbled Norwich lined up with the ball A Sc ries of open plays which caught the Brown team mapping and utterly bewildered the players was started. With Norwich in an open formation, triple pass was tried but without gain, anil then from the same open formation MUIR ray threw forward pass to O’Dowd and the latter, with beautiful exhibit ton of straight arm and heady running, ran to a touchdown. Thompson, who played at quarter for the first half of the game and who was one of the stars for Norwich, had his right ankle broken during an espe ciallv hard tackle. He was attended BY u physician at the field and later was removed to the Rhode Island hospital. The lineup:
