  NORTHWESTERN ON TOP. Rallies After First Period and Beats Indiana, 20 to z. BLOOMINGTON. Ind. October 26-The Northwestern University foot ball team rallied after the first period and defeated Indiana University by the score of 20 to Z today. The Hoosier team showed a flash in the first period like it did a week ago. when it scored. against Illinois. but after that time failed to hold its lead. Northwestern’s rally came in the Sec ond, when the visitors showed theil strength and the home teams weakness and tied the score. At the end OF the third period, with the score to .. In diana showed a gain in the defensive. and it appeared to be either sides game. However. in the final period Northwest. err unloosened series OF sensational trick plays which bewildered the proteges of Sheldon and which nearly every time resulted in good gains. Lanke and Hightower were the men who worried Indiana most and were responsibie for runs of 30 to 40 yards In diana’s chief weakness was in tack ing. The locals also permitted the Purple backs to make long returns on punts.
