VANDERBILT WINS 46 TO 0. HARDAGE STARS, WHILE BIG M’WHORTER LOOKS BADLY. COMMODORES WILL EVIDENT LY SWEEP SOUTH Atlanta, October 19.-(Special )-Vander- bilt went wild over their heavier Georgia opponents here today on field two inches deep in mud and with standing water in some places, the final count showing 46 to O. The muddy field did not retard the speed of the Commodore bacl1fleld in the least, Sykes, Collins, Hardage and Rob bins tearing off gains after gains of 20 or more yards at a clip. Hardage branded the report that he was yellow as a lie of the full cloth. It gen. orally took about three Georgia men to stop him. once he got started and on three occasions he went right through the center of the entire Georgia team for gains of 20 yards or more. Hardage ran back for a punt 60 yards one time. while Collins caught Georgia forward pass and, lodging here and there, ran six yards for a touchdown. McWhOrter Looked Badly On the defensive play the two Browns. Enoch and Tom, were the stars for Van derbilt, while Big Henderson, the Georgia center, was their bulwark. The showing of McWhorter, the Georgia star was disappointing. the Vanderbilt backs not running round him, but rough shod right over him. Dorsey, Georgia s little 100 pound quarterback, showed the best all round work of the entire Georgia eleven. A crowd of 5000 persons witnessed the battle nine-tenths of whom were for the Red and Black. The betting before the game was on Georgia scoring. Vanderbilt made 13 points in the first quarter. six in the second and third each, and 21 in the fourth Georgia never threatened the Van derbilt line. the nearest they approached being the 20 yard line.

MASS MEETING STIRS UP GR0GGY GEORGIA SPIRIT ATHENS, GA, Oct ga mass meet ing and rally after an overwhelming defeat is somewhat of an innovation in Southern football circles. but this is what took place a the University of Georgia last night More than 900 cheering stu dents packed into the chapel and the greatest display of Georgia spirit ever recorded was manifested on this coca sion. The Georgia team came back from the Vanderbilt game somewhat demoralized and the purpose OF the rally was to awaken new interest Chancellor David c. Barrow was the first to mount the rostrum and he led the Georgia students in the famous old campaign song. We’re the Jolly Georgia Boys and Fear No Harm. He then made one of the most spirited addresses ever heard in the his toriC old chapel. Hugh Gordon. head of the local alumni association: Judge George c. Thomas, Professor John Morris and Captain Pea cock then spoke. Georgia lost, but is not defeated” was the slogan of the meeting Before the meeting last night gloom on the campus was so thick it could have been sliced and both the football team and the stu dents have not yet fully realized how the score of 46 to 0 was made against them The team has begun its practice for the game with Ala hama next Saturday None of the team was injured in the Van dy struggle, and this week the Georgia team will go through the hardest practice of the season
