  AUBURN DEFEATS CLEMSON TEAM South CarOlinians Unable to Withstand Tiger Line Plunges Auburn. October peeial)-Clemson went down before Auburn’s onslaught to- day by a score of 27 to 6, on field which was soaked with water. which made the bah hard to handle. The game was hard fought, with the outweighed Clemson team scrapping fercely for every foot of ground. Clemson found their defense no match for the hard line plunges of Auburns fullback, Resijac, and Newells end runs. These two men. together with Captain Majors. did practically all the ground gaining for the Orange and Blue Webb for Clemson was the particular stellar light He Is a classy fullback and was the only man able to make head way through the Auburn line. Clemson s weakest point was defense, being able to hold Auburn for downs only twice, once on their one yard line. The South Carollnians repeated the feat of Florida when Lewis picked up fumbled ball on Auburn’s 35 yard line and dashed for a touchdown. Major overlook him and tackled too late, both rolling over the me The first quarter opened with Clemson kicking off. Major returned 40 yards and planted the ball in the center of the field. Ressijac and Major went through Clemsons line in succession for 10 yards, and Ressi- fac carried the sphere over after seven plays Major missed goal. Auburn scored again in this quarter when Major went over after q succession of straight foot hall plays and then kicked goal. Nothing happened in the seco.o period, which ended with the ban in Auburns possession. In the third quarter Auburn kicked off Clemson fumbled on her first nlav and Robinson covered the ball on Clemsons 20 yard line. ,Ressijac went over for the third touch- down after seven plunges through Clem- sons line Major kicked goal. In the fourth quarter Clemson scored when Auburn fumbled on her 35-yard line. Lewis recovered promptly and wont for touchdown. Auburn scored again in the last four minutes of play after Clemson fumbled and the ball went to Auburn on Clemson’s 40-yard line.
