  TEXAS DEFEATS AUBURN, Kirkpatrick scored rs Points for the LOnghOrns. AUSTIN, Tex, Nov. 1S.-With the exception Of the last quarter the Uni yersity of Texas football team played Auburn, (Ala.D Polytechnic Institutc eleven Off their feet, winning by a score Of lS to 8. The all-round playing Of Kirkpatrick for Texas was easily the feature of the game. lie scored the entire 1S-points for his team. Major starred for the Alabamans. After five minutes play Kirkpatrick scored a touchdown on a fifteen yard run around end. Goal was kicked. The sixth touchdown was made in the same period on a forward pass and fifteen yard run, James to Kirkpatrick. Again goal was kicked. Texas then worked the ball to the twenty yard line whore Kirkpatrick kicked goal from placement In the second period after several end runs. kirkpatrick kicked his sec ond goal trom placement on the fifteen yard line. Auburn scored in the last quarter on a succession Of line bucks and end runs.

Scoring for Texas was done early in the game, Auburn coming strong toward the last. Both teams were crippled by a number Of substitutes, but Auburn had the worst Of it, as Texas had several capable substitutes on the side lines. Auburn was completely Outclassed In the first part, Texas scoring two touch downs and two field goals and kicking both goals. In the latter part Auburn went back TO her old rushing tactics putting in big Davis. last years cap tain Taking advantage Of Texas tumble they got the ball on the % yard line and in a series Of line plunges sent Davis crashing over for the lone touchdown.
