Pennsylvania Defeats Lehigh. PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 1S.-A prettier or closer game of football was never played on the and Pennsylvania to-day Both colleges put the best teams they could obtain in the field At the outset Lehigh rushed the playing and succeeded in keeping the ball dangerously near their opponents goal, but they failed to score. By remarkable run from near the centre of the field Church, of the Pennsylvania, made the first touchdown for his team. No goal was kicked, and the first half ended to DIN Penn sylyania’s favor. During this half Lehgh lost the services of her captain and end rush, Emery: to retire, and Walker, the other end, was dis qualified for slugging. Crippled in this fashion, Lehigh finished the game and held Pennsylvania down to another touchdown. The game closed with a score of 8 to 0 in favor of Pennsylvania The game was won on its merits, however, and Lehigh was fairly defeated.
