PLACEMENT GOAL WINS FOR PRINCETON Easton, Pa., October 15.-(Special.)- Princeton and Lafayette had tremen- dous football battle this afternoon before 12,O00 people on March field, the Tigers finally winning 3 to 0. The teams were evenly matched and during the first three-quarters of the game neither could score. Lafayette | theratened Princetons goal several times and Princeton was on the defensive until nearly the close of the third quarter when Captain Forestman of Lafayette and others of her players being injured Princeton was able to get the ball close to Lafayette line, but three times La fayette held for downs. each time inside the five-yard line and once when Prince ton had but foot to go for a touch- down. When the last quarter was almost over Pendleton kicked goal from placement from the 35-yard line. There was not a minute of play that was not exciting, and the crowd saw great exhibition. Lafayette’s work was aggressive and during the first two quar- ters the ball was mostly in Princetons territory. First downs were rare and the ball passed frequently from one side to the other on punts. Roland did the kicking for Lafayette; Hart for Princeton. and there was little difference in their effectiveness Some brilliant runs were made after these punts, Pendleton making a beauti- ful one of 45 yards and Dannehower an exciting dash through the line for 35 yards. Forward passes were tried at in- tervals, but gained little, the man who received the ball generally going down in his tracks. The interference by Lafay- cite was poor at times, but her defense was impregnable at critical moments. Tha line-un. at
