CARLISLE OVERWHELMS GETTYSBURG RAH-RAHS CARLISLE. Pa, Oct. 11.-Carlisle defeated Gettysburg yesterday afternoon by the overwhelming score of 20 to g. The Indian squad is rounding into fine shape and will be a large factor in the coming gridiron season. The Get tysburg line was heavier than the In dians, but the speed of the redskins and their frequent use of the forward pass was too much for the white boys. The Carlisle Indian school authorlties deny that the person mentioned in recent dispatches from Chicago, to the effect that a famous Carlisle foot ball player by the name of Frank Darkcloud had been sentenced to the BrideWen in Chicago for theft, was ever a student of the school. The rec ords of all graduates and returned students were carefully examined and no such name was found. Superintendent Friedman, when questioned, stated that many such stories have in recent years been printed, and upon investigation, have practically without exception been found to be canards, as far as their relationship of the parties to the Ger Isle school is concerned He went on further to say that many MeXicans and dark skinned individuals have passed, when in trouble or in the tolls of the law, as former Carlisle students, in order to arouse sympathy, or Sc cure exemption frC their merited punishment. The famous Indian foot ball team has been an especial victim of such Misrepresentation
