  CARLISLE TRIMS VILLANOVA Dupuis Makes Only Touchdown of Game. Harrisburg, Pa, Sept 24.-Carlisle and Villanova’s collegians met on the grid iron at Island Park to-day for the first battle of the season in Central Penn sylvania under the new rules, and wheI. the game ended eight subs were playing and the rest of the men were well-nigh exhausted from playing in almost summer heat. The Indians won, to O. The new rules caused no end of difficulty. and players and coaches united in criticislng the many features. Coach Glenn Warner, of the Indians, declared the new rules We’re a return 10 old-tlme play. and attributed considerable Of the confusion among the players 10 their lack Of familiarity with the rules. Half dozen penalties were inflicted. the Indians being a bit too eager and getting off-side. The Indian team settled down in the second half and outplayed their opponents. Dupuis, the Carlisle left half, doing some brilliant work. He made the only touchdown OF the game.
