COLORADO SPRINGS, Nov. 81 Denver university yesterday clinched it’s claim to the Rocky Mountain foot ball championship by defeating the Colorado college Tigers by score of G to a in the fercest game ever seen here. Denver made its touchdown and goal after ten minutes of play in the first half, carrying the ball on straight football from the Tigers 45-yard line. A few minutes later Quarterback Clyde Smith of the Tigers placed a beautiful drop kick squarely between the posts from the 4O-yard line, making the score 6 to 4. After that until the last three minutes of play, when Den yer worked the ball to the Tiger 1-yard line on a series of line bucks and for ward passes and lost it on downs, the Tigers clearly outplaycd the visitors, keeping the bali in Denver’s territory all of the time. The Tigers missed nine good chances to win the game on field goals all of the kicks, except one, which was blocked, going about foot wide of the posts. Five thousands peo. pie saw the contest.
