  vIRGINIA’S EASY VICTORY. North Carolina Defeated by q Score oi 81 to O. RICHMOND. Nov. 26.-The University Of Virginia team decisively defeated North Carolina here to-day by a score OF 81 to o. thereby winning the Southern champion ship. The boasted prowess Of the Tar Heels failed to mate1alize against the Virginians’ line. Two touchdowns were rolled up against Carolina In the first fifteen minutes of play. The Tar Heels seemed unable to gain through the line, making first down only twice. while Virginia lost on downs twice The first half was made spectacular by long runs by stanton, Neff and Mornaker. Howell Carolina’s right guard, was the one impregnable spot. the left side Of their line being particularly weak Virginia gained considerable on exchange Of punts. One touchdown was the result Of six consecutive long runs of the Virginia backs. All the scoring except one touch down came in the first hail. the second being desultory and full of penalties. Most of the playing was in Carolina territory. yetterbin for Virginia narrowly missed “a drop kick. Cecil kicked every goal but one. Carolina was the betting favorite until Yesterday. Capt. Thomas of the Tar Heels was out OF the game while Cloth. the Nirginians’ leader. played UP to the last five minutes with badly injured knee. Twice touchdowns by Virginia were annuled by imposition of penalties. and on one play Nen was in open field and brought to earth by Howell with a plendid tackle.
