TRINITY TEAM WAS OUTCLAssEO Texas Christian University Eleven Piles Up Score Of % Points. L. two weeks ago to a II to 10 score. were drubbed numerically on the T. G. L. gridiron Saturday after noon, the result being % to 0. Only in the last five minutes of play We’re the visitors in striking distance of the T. c. u goal, when McCollum. the big left half for Trinity, advanced the pigskin to T. G. Us five yard line, to be held for downs. The day was too hot for football, and owing to the counter attractions the crowd was not so large as usual, but the exhibition was splendid from start to finish and the locals showed lots of ability in the great college sport. Work in the open field gave opportunity for the stars ! to do stunts, and sensational runs and forward passes with results that counted abounded in the program OF the contest The eTrinity-sbo boys had far the heaviest line. Deartngs In right tackle being c1assed as a full heavy weight. T. c. U. kicked off in the first half and after eight minutes of play Massie covered the pigskin on Perkins’ punt on Trinity’s two yard line. Billingsley crossed on the next down for a touchdown. Massie kicked goal. There was no more scoring the first half, the ball being in the middle OF the field in Trinitys possession when the whistle blew The visitors had tried line .,plunging as their chief weapon and were held time and again by the T. c. u. linesmen, who suffered by the disparity III weight, but who seemed to overcome it. In the second half Perkins received Trinity’s punt and advanced forty yeards behind splendid interference, conducted chiefly, by Wake field. Trinity made the first down once and were held then for downs. A trick play enabled Perkins to make a good gain and he added more than thirty yeards by quarterback run, reaching Trinity’s seven yard hne. There T. C. y. lost the ball Trinity was forced to kick and lost the ball on the same spot. Wright went through four yards for the second touchdown. Massie kicked goal. !. .Score,al2 too. MAssia’s next boDtine | feat was a place kick from the twenty-five yard line, increasing the score to 16. Baldwin’s eighty yard ! run on the forward pass from Perkins for touchdown was the most sensational stunt of the afternoon and the college enthusiasm swelled to demonstration when he drew up / behind Trinity goal posts. At the end of the second half six substitutes were playing in T. c. U. dMniform and Captain Thomas was Iout of the game to start with. | For the visitors McCollum easily held honors as the chief ground 4 gamer, and had he not been so exlhausted Fby constant play, the Trini- | ty boys might have broken their | goOse-egg on the occasion referred to in the beginning, when the visitors | were in close proximity to T. c. U. 8 | goal Glenn, right end. and Berry captain and center, were among their star performers. / Perkins, who started out in bad form and who throughout the game was handicapped by weak ankle. pulled of stunts in the last half that made the plucky little quarter q gridiron hero. Billinesley’s . all round work was probably the. best individual work Of the game, knight was at the tackle every time and ad Ivanced on the forward pass for good gains. Fuzzy Baldwin featured ii his eighty yard run for touchdown after replacing Wakefield. The latter deserves part of the glory OF the vic tory for splendid Interference ane tackles. Waco Times-Herald.
