RESULT OF GAMES ! ON The GRIDIRON VIN ltsA uAAAOAhOIN = Although the finishing touches are yet to be put TO the majority Of the important Eastern college football teams to prepare them for the cham pionship games, various remarkable events on the gridiron on Saturday seem TO make it practicable to pick the present leader in the football world. On the basis Of Harvards brilliant vic tory over Carlisle Saturday, Browns tic game with Yale and Dartmouth’s win over Princeton. Harvard would seem to have first choice. Carlisle. which has held the University Of Pennsylvania to score Of to 6, was trounced by Harvard. II to 0. Brown, which Harvard had little trou Bile in beating. to .. a week ago. outplayed Yale, the blue sympathizers feeling lucky TO escape with a 1O-to-10 tie. With Dartmouth. which showed decisive superiority over Princeton in its O-to-6 victory in New York Harvard has only Williams scores for comparison. Harvard disposed of Williams. 10 to 0. and the Berkshire boys i’m their scoreless contest. Score comparisons, however, are unreliable in the present development Of the teams. Harvard has probably shown / the greatest development Of any of the / big Eastern elevens Dartmouth, with the exception OF Pishon. the little quarterback. has practically the same team that last year overwhelmed Harward. These two elevens will meet next Saturday. and should Dartmouth win she win have realized her ambition to rank among the very first Of the big teams. Annapolis. which piled up so points against Villa Nova on Saturday. still leads in scoring. with 1874 The University Of Pennsylvania is next, with 17s. while Yale with 142 Harvard. with l22; Syracuse, with 115, and Brown, with 1O5. are the only other Eastern teams above the century mark. None of the Eastern teams has an unsullied goal. Yale’s record was the last to tumble, Brown smirohing IL twice on Saturday. Following are the scores of Saturdays games: Penn. “a; Lafayette, T.
