An Error of Judgment Lost the Victory to Columbia. 10000 SAW THE GAME. st. Joseph, Mo-, Nov. 29.-Notwithstanding the fact that. man for man and play for play, they were the equals of their doughty opponents, the great eleven representing Missouri by a score of 4 to 0. went down to defeat at League park before the splendid Kansas machine built up by Kenney. To Sam Forter. the star of the Jay hawker aggregation, more than to any other thing or man, does the Red and Blue owe a debt of gratitude, for it was his wonderful goal from the field after twenty-seven minutes of play that brought out of impending disaster a glorious victory. Twice had the fierce onslaughts of their rivals and then the hero of the day dropped back to the forty-two-yard line to try for what seemed an impossible score. The Missouri stand rose and implored its team to get the touchdown, but an error of judgment in attempting to kick a goal from the field with three yards to go. kick that was blocked dashed the only hope of the Tigers and lost them the victory. The town was a mass of decorations and 1t is estimated that 10000 cheer ing spectators were at the game. This is 2,000 more than ever attended the game at Kansas City. The First Half. At 2:05 the Kansas eleven arrived in a tallyho coach with red and blue bunting. Instantly the band struck up “Boola” and the air resounded with the cheers of the Lawrence men.
