Nov. 2.-The Army defeated the Colgate team here to-day by a score of to o. 1t rained in torrents all during the game and the handling of the ball was almost impossible There were many fumbles by both sides and the puntins was very uncertain In the second half a poor punt by Surles gave the visitors a chance TO try a place kick from the 25-yard mark but Whalen fumbled the slippery ball. Another poor Army punt placed Colgate In positon to try goal from placement. but Waites’s effort fell short Colgate unable to penetrate the Army line, and what gains IL made came from end runs and well executed forward passes The Army depended almost entirely upon line plunges for ground gaining. In the first half. with Weeks heading a tandem formation, the Army backs tore through the Wis itors for five yards at time from the SO-yard mark To a touchdown The position of fulback was a for Weeks, the veteran tackle but his work to-day showed the change to be- a wise one.
