DENVER TEAM IS COMING THIS WAY DUE OVER SALT LAKE ROUTE TODAY Hempel Accounts for Defeat in Utah Saturday by Comparing Play of Mormons and Colorado Warriors Denver university’s football team will arrive in Los Angeles this morning over the Salt Lake route, and will spend the week in practice preparatory to their game with st. Vincent at Fiesta park next Saturday. In the squad are sixteen players and coach and manager, and they will all hang out at the Hol.enbeck. Denver was badly beaten by Utah in Salt Lake day before yesterday, and coach Hempel of st. Vincent accounts for the defeat by analyzing the Coloradans’ style of battle. Denver plays an open game, and relies on fakes, double and forward passes. and other tricks of a light team for gains, and the beefy Mormons tore the line to pieces on every down. I’VE are going to meet them at their own game” said Hempel “and our plays will all be open. We probably outweigh them few pounds to the man, but this will not make much difference in the style which will predominate. The visitors will use Fiesta parl5 every morning and put in few hours in practice. Their game will doubtless show decided Improvement over. that of last Saturday, as several defects noticeable in the Utah game will be remedied.
