Coach. Ernest Quigley OF St Marys who refereed the game last Saturday between Washburn and the Aggies has volunteered the following opinion on the game: Throughout the entire contest the Farmers seemed to have the better of the battle-getting their plays on well and making good gains, while on defense repeatedly holding Washburn-- Their offense seemed strong except at the time when it should have been strongest, while attempting goals from the field; then it was that Wash burn demonstrated what she could do and broke through, necessitating the kicks to be gotten on too quick to be accurate The game all in all showed that the heavy schedule which Washburn has been playing has the men some what overturned This was quite noticeable in the case of White and Williams, neither of whom was in q condition to play such a game. while on the contrary the ‘Aggfes’ were in splendid FORM being at their best” The hopes OF the Colorado college Tigers in regard to the Colorado state championship received a death blow al the hands OF the Kansas Aggies who defeated the Tigers by a score of to o. AS result Of the game both sides filed counter charges against the coaches who are accused of using methods OF coaching their teams from the side lines. The game between the Normal and Ottawa last Monday which was won by the Normal by the narrow margin OF to furnishing a poor criterion to Judge the playing Of the two teams by. The Normal was clearly outplayed by the Baptists who should have won the game. A couple Of poor fumbles at critical times lost the game, while It was mere luck that gave the Normal the touchdown. Such are the uncertainties OF the game. Ottawa viii play WashbuTn in Topeka Nov. oath. The game at Kansas city last sat urday between the Haskell Indians and the Kansas City Veterinary col lege was a very close game The In dians won by~a score OF 10 to 4. They made the only touchdown or the game. Each side negotiated a field goal. The Indians had the advantage in team work but the Vets” evened up In their individual work OF some of their men who were old stars. Washer, an old Missouri tackle who is the coach OF the team, played great game Other old Missouri players such as T’ulkers0n, Conrad and Crisp PLAYED on the horse doctors team. This game IS one of the very few games which the Indians have won this year They have lost all their good players since the larger Kansas schools cut them out on account Of their professional methods. Coach Quigley’s second team holds the record for piling up the highest score Of any team in the country under the new rules. Monday afternoon they sent the football aspirations of the Kansas Wesleyan school skyward by the Overwhelming score of n to 8. Quigley has a good bunch at St. Marys and is demonstrating what light team can do against a heavier one under the new rules. Quigley’s first team Mays against Washburn November 18th There will be something doing then.
