VANDY TOO MUCH FUR AUBURN BUNCH Score of 54 to Q Tells the Awful Tale F0Y GETS THROUGH LINE Was Clear of Everybody Save Quarter. back Kyle, and This Was the Only Noticeable Galn Made By Auburn. Nashville. November 4.--(Special) )-Au- burn, the pride of the Alabama checker board, proved an utter disappointment against the Vanderbilt eleven on Dudley field this afternoon. In twenty-five min ute halves the McGugin machine ran up the large score of 54 to 0. Throughout the struggle which was productive of sensa- tional work on the part of the locals the play was in Auburn’s territory. Not single occasion was Vandys goal in danger, Coach Donahue’s men making the first down but few times. Llne Smashed to Pieces. Before the rushes of the big backfleld men, Auburn was powerless. The left side of their line was smashed to pieces every attack. When Quarterback Kyle once put the ball in motion there was no telling how far the runner would go before being stopped. Craig made beautiful end runs for large gains, while Manier Dan Blake, Bob Blake, Stone, Taylor and Pritchard bucked over the guards and tackles at every charge. Jones. Foy and one other of the Auburn men put up a splendid de- fense, but there was but little assist ance from the others they of course could not do it all. When in charge of the ball Auburn made but few gains and was forced to punt many times to keep from losing the ball on downs. F’oy broke through Vandy’s line once and was clear of all save Quarterback Kyle, who by flying tackle, sent the big back field man to the ground. This was the only time Auburn made a noticeable gain. Showed Lack of Form. Auburn showed a lack of form The re- peated attacks against the line was tell ing and Coach Donahue was forced to substitute players during the game. It might be also stated that the team work was ragged at times, and the squad on the whole appeared to be a little green. Vanderbilt stamps this as her greatest victory of the year while Auburn leaves Nashville much disappointed with the re- suit They had hoped to hold the locals to three touchdowns and in failing to do so they did not hesitate to pronounce the Commodores the greatest the south has ever produced The lineup follows: Vanderbilt Position Auburn.
