FOOT BALL SEASON ON. Couple Surprises in the Opening Games Saturday. Two of the big colleges that opened their foot ball season Saturday made lower scores than were looked for and showed form that was not impressive. These two were Columbia and Pennsylvania, each of which was able to score only one touch down against Union and State colleges the respective opponents. Lafayette and Lehigh came to the front in good style, win ming by one-sided scores. The scores of the winners ran large as a rule, indicating plenty Of vigor In the attack A notable feature Of the days battles was the scarcity OF scoring On the part of the beat en- teams. The principal results were: Georgetown, y; Maryland Agricultural, O. Columbia, 10; Union, 0. Pennsylvania. 6; State College. o. Lafayette. 35; Wyoming Seminary, 0. Lehigh, 81; Albright, 0. Syracuse, q; Cortland Normal School, o. Williams, o; Alumni, 0. Rochester, %; Niagara University, 0. Bucknell, p; Lebanon Valley. o. Dickinson. 10; Western Maryland. o.
