When the game started the Army players appeared to be able to hold their own. and for a short time 7 ale was on the defensive. Then Prince punted and Yale lined up with the ball on her 35-yard ma rain Of five wards. getting around the left end and then twice tried the line and failed. Bowman then punted and Hackett was downed as soon as he caught the ball in the centre Of the field. After a few exchang es Of punts. Metcalf dashed between Doe and Mettler and, going like deer down the ield. lodged all the Army players. Graves. however. had started after him. and Metcalf. running dagonaly across the field, gave Graves an advantage. and the Army player made splendid tackle and downed the Yale man on the Armys l5-yard line Owsley took the ball Ave yards nearer the goal. and then Bseel was held A poor pass by Rockw ell and a tumble by O1sley gave the ball to the Army team on their S-yard fumhled But for this tumble Yale would have scored Prince punT,ed t and the W ball soon out Of ae 5sd 70 o wSrs strong brace and got the ball on downs. and then Prince pun ted to o., fals Ne lizard line line, where IH5 OIL TcAeN ouJ Vi pOulus’ DOWman gained FIVE yards, getting between Tip ton and Mettler and then followed the play which finally resulted In the Army team soor- When the game was resumed there was an furnhle few short gains were Tn1, made made got tho ball on the Army’s sO-yard line and began plungng through the Army line Hogan vent ‘ eight e yards Further and on the next play took the ball to the Army’s 10-yard line.
