  Soccer Kick LiftsPrincetOn Over Columbia NEW YORK, Oct. 5 CAP) - A soccer-style conversion kick by Charles Gogolak gave Prin- ‘ceton a 7–⁠6 victory over Column bia today in an exciting Ivy League football game. Gogolak booted the extra point with the side of his foot after Don Mckay had sprinted A yards for Princeton’s touch down in the first quarer. Columbia. guided by the brilliant and versatile Archie Roberts, came back to score in the second period and got close enough for three unsuccessful fieldgoal attempts as it domimated the rest Of the game. But Roberts failure on a run for a two-point conversion proved decisive in the Columbia defeat. Roberts, VIII oshowed himself to be a fine runner as well as a dazzling paSSer, thrilled a crowd of 29,048 as he pulled off a SEN sational punt return and directed the Lions on four drives deep into Princeton territory in the second half. Three times John Bashaar tried field goalS-from IS to AZ yards-but they all were short. The last time Columbia was in range the Princeton d defense piled up Halfback Harry Hersh at the scrim mage line on fourth down.
