Minnesota broke her record for high score made against Grinnell last year by ten. points, piling up a score of 112 against Manchester college yesterday afternoon. Manchester put up a strong resistance, but it takes a fast team to pile up such a score against any kind of an aggregation, and Minnesota never let up for a minute. Rogers, Davies, Irsfield and O’Brien deserve special mention for their brilliant work, and Schacht and Burdick were not far behind them The interference was strong and rarely did man have to depend on his own efforts alone to gain ground. On defense the work was strong; Macalester never gained an inch and was fire. quently held for downs. The little fell lows played a plucky game and never quit, but they were completely carried away by the rushes of the Gophers. The first touchdown took three min utes, Minnesota running the ball down the field and sending Davies over for the score. Rogers kicked goal. Rogers kicked off the next time, and Manchester ran the ball back ten yards, but was forced to punt on third down. O’Brien brought the bali back fifteen yards, and then Davies made a run of thirty-two yards for his second touch down. The next two We’re made in short or der, O’Brien making a forty-yard run for the first. Schacht made the Sec ond. safety by Manchester as the resuit Of fumbling a pass for a punt behind the goal line varied tn monotony, but on the punt-out O’Brien ran back to the ten-yard line and Davies went over. Rogers made the next touchdown by the longest run of the game, going around left end with fine interference for seventy yards. The last Manchester man in his way being bowled over by Thorpe on the f1ve-yard line After this touchdowns came thick and fast, and after twenty minutes of play the half came to an end with the score 60 to 0. Mueller, Macalester’s coach, was allowed to kick off for his pupils in the latter part of the game and sent the ball generally we’ll down the field Minnesota sent in the same team in the second half and they went at it harder than ever, making at one time two touchdowns in a minute and a half and four in five minutes of play The game was called with two minutes of the second half still to be played Schacht made the last touchdown by blocking a kick and then taking the ball over the line. Rogers kicked goal, end ing with the score 112 to 0 in favor of minnesota. The lineup:
