NAVY Before Navy takes on Cornell at Annapolis Saturday, the coaching staff will have to find a way to spring John Sal loose. The fleet halfback is the Mid shipments only real breakaway threat, but in three games he has broken away only once-on a 35-yard touchdown scamper against Penn State in Navy’s losing All opener. Against Minnesota Saturday Sal was given the ball six times but gained only 8 yards. Considering the force of the Gophers’ rush, anything that showed up on the plus side was to be applauded, but it couldn’t stave off a 21–0 beating which leveled the Navy log at one victory against two sound beat ings. That Rush Too Much After some of the shock wore off, Wayne Hardin. Navy’s coach, said he had never seen such a rush by a college team as that put on by the Mime sofa line. Navy’s defense was able to contend with it fairly well, but with Navy in possession. the big, fast linemen brushed past the Middies as if they weren’t there. Several times Ron Klemick,
