  GW’sBigA Aim AIwaystoBeat West Virginia Following the 7–⁠3 upset of Army last Saturday, Coach Gene Corum was asked if it was the greatest victory for his West Virginia football team. Corum replied quite frankly, Nothing feels as good as beat ing Pitt” While the Mountaineers’ chief ambition yearly has been to whip PittSburgh-20-6, this season-they have learned what it’s like to be on the receiving end of such sentiment. For George Washington, nothing compares with a victory over West Virginia, one reason their 18th meeting will be GW’s homecoming attraction Saturday at D. c. Stadium. Last years 26–⁠0 triumph at Morgantown was the most pleasant development in the ColonialS’ 5-3-1 record, their first decision over West Virginia since 1850 and the widest victory margin in GW’s seven conquests over the years. Series Proves Interesting Since the series was resumed in 1850. after a lapse of 10 years, the two schools have staged some of the finest games in the Southern Conference.
