NORMAN, Okla, Nov. 10 APP The Nebraska Cornhuskers used a 68-yard touchdown run by Bill Thornton and a % yard field goal by Ron Meade in the final quarter today to beat Oklahoma 17–14 in a Big Eight football game. Meade, a third-string quarter back, came off the bench with 1888 left in the game and boot ed the ball through the goal posts to provide the Corn huskers with the upset decision. 1t was strictly a come from behind effort by the spirited Nebraskans after they found themselves behind 14–0 at halftime. It was the second time for Meade to come through with heroics against the Sooners. Last year, Meade kicked two field goals as the Cornhuskers edged the Sooners, 1921, for Oklahoma’s first conference loss in rs games. Oklahoma was in oldtime form in the first half and APP peared well on the way to a verdict over the Cornhuskers.
